The Belton Center for the Arts emerged from a citizen gathering in March
1999. Since then a dedicated group of community leaders tirelessly
pursued a vision of creating an organization devoted to the arts.

The community of Belton has enthusiastically embraced the art center since
its inception. In fact, the Belton Center for the Arts has had such an
extremely good response that it outgrew its previous facility .
The Belton Center for the Arts embarked on a capital campaign in 2006 to
restore the new facility to accommodate a larger and ever-growing
audience.

The Belton Center for the Arts has been an integral component of the
community’s economic development and is responsible for numerous visitors
coming to the city. The heart of the art center, the main gallery, has
been designed for multi-use and is Belton’s paramount exhibition space.
The new larger facility has ensured that the Belton Center for the Arts
will remain the treasured community resource and valued cultural
organization that the community deserves.
